September 2021 was one of the craziest months for my baking. Towards the end of the month - September 25th to be exact - I did the biggest event I'd ever done.

The Syracuse Food Truck Battle was the biggest, most insane event I've ever done. I baked for three days, and was down at the fairgrounds from 7:30 am - 8:30 pm.

I didn't sell out of everything. I did sell out of certain things. I got a lot of amazing feedback, and made a good chunk more than I spent. Would I do that event again? Probably not. It was an amazing event and I did well enough, but most people go to food trucks for the food trucks.

After I left the fair, I went home and passed out.

And then? I woke up at 2:00 am on Sunday, September 26th. Yes. I'm crazy.

I had purchased tickets, last minute, to a convention for The Vampire Diaries. In New Jersey. It's not my first convention by a longshot. But it is the first one I didn't actually plan to attend. My friends can be very convincing.

So, I left my house and drove the four hours to New Jersey. Not having told hardly anyone that I was attending led to some of the funniest reactions when people saw me.

I even got to surprise one of my biggest supporters with my baking - Mr. Michael Trevino. And that led to a shoutout about my baking business on stage, and quite a few new likes to my business page (even though most of them are out of state and I can't sell to them).

With Covid comes restrictions. There was plexiglass up for the photo ops, and the actors could decide what they were comfortable doing. Even more so than they already do.

I went in with backup ideas to all of my poses. And was prepared to change my ideas considering Michael wasn't holding props for anyone. But, I'm typically the exception to the rules when it comes to my boys, and this was no exception.

Michael held all my props, and did all my poses without any issue. Even telling the volunteers that it was fine, because he knows me.

So naturally, I had the volunteers (also friends) not put the photos out. I've had issues in the past, photos stolen in the past, and I did not want or need an issue this weekend.

Seeing Trevino for the first time face to face since 2019, seeing my friends face to face, and being back at one of my two happy places was a much needed break. Even though I was thoroughly exhausted from the previous week, and the Food Truck event.

Talking with Trevino is always a welcome distraction. He's always been so so supportive of my baking, even before I had the business, and I am eternally grateful to him.

I had a poster made for photo ops and such, which I used this weekend. I had brought it to autographs, asking Michael to sign it. I *thought* that he was just going to sign it. I did not expect him to write a review on the poster.
