May 11th. About two months or so since this whole Corona-Virus thing started. Hospitalizations and cases are starting to decline – not end, just slow down some. They're talking about opening parts of the state up. I hope they don't rush into it. Limits on certain foods and other items are still in effect – and people are still miserable about it. Taking it out on people that are enforcing the limits when it's not their fault or decision, they're just trying to get through their work day and go home. I’m still grocery shopping for several people I know – family and friends – who can’t go to the grocery store for specific reasons, or can't find things. I don’t mind, I’m at the store non-stop it feels like anyway, I just shop before or after my shift. I miss seeing my friends. I get to talk to them via text or whatever, but it’s not the same. I can’t wait for this whole thing to be over, it’s draining everyone. I feel like as soon as it’s possible I need to take a short vacation just to get out of Syracuse. To just get away from everything. I’m still baking like crazy – that’ll never change. I have to ask my friends every month if they still want their baked goods shipped out. The answer is so far always yes. My best-friend and I are now running not one, but TWO fan-sites. Official fan sites for two of our actor friends. I love having consent from actors to run fan pages for them. We don’t have an insane amount of likes/follows, yet, but we’re official in the sense that we have their direct consent to do so. For those of you that are interested the fan sites are for actors Michael Trevino and Steven R McQueen. You can follow us on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. I’ll put the links below, or you can check them out here on my page on the bars above. Yesterday, honestly, was probably the best day I’ve had both at work and in general for a bit. Work wasn’t as busy – probably because of Mother’s Day, but then again, I left before 2:00 pm, it could have gotten busy after I left. What made my day absolutely amazing was the fact that I got to attend what so far has been my favorite convention of the year. Online. Dream It Conventions put on a virtual convention called Dream It At Home, where celebrities from different fandoms came together to do virtual panels, group meetings and one on one meet and greets via Zoom with fans. There were actors from Pretty Little Liars, Regin, Wizards of Waverly Place, Game of Thrones, Teen Wolf, and The Vampire Diaries. The only celebrity that I cared to meet was Steven R. McQueen. For those of you that don’t know me personally, I’ve known Steven for about eight years, so getting to talk to a friend that I haven’t talked to in months, was an amazing experience for me. He is one of my all-time favorite people in the world, and he always manages to put a smile on my face. Everyone at work knew I was in a good mood because I was bouncing around most of the morning. I basically left work, went home and sat on my bed with my tablet for about three hours and attended a convention. It was amazing. I wish that I had more time to chat with Steven, but the five minutes was more than I had in a while, and it was absolutely perfect.
Cast4Good did an event with the cast of Roswell almost a month ago, and that was probably an almost tie for first, getting to talk to my other fave Michael Trevino. This convention was so so much better than the first convention (can you really call it that) that I was at in January in Orlando. I’ve honestly decided to not even that a convention. It was a trip where I went to Disney and Universal and saw my friends and made some new ones. It was a trip where I learned where I was wanted and where I wasn’t. It wasn’t a convention weekend. I can’t wait until the next event, whether digital or not, to talk to see and see my boys. Dream It Conventions is doing another event in June and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that someone I like is going. Hopefully this whole Corona thing is over soon, I can’t deal with people. I’m normally perfectly fine working retail, but people have become miserable since this whole thing has gotten more and more intense. Taking things out on the retail workers who are risking their life is really starting to make everyone on edge, and I severely need a vacation.
