Workout Update

Working out is a process. Going from the worst fitness level, slowly gaining strength in muscle groups, learning your body’s limit, and becoming fitter.

When COVID hit I stopped going to the gym (they weren’t open) and other than walking around or the random 5k with my friends, I wasn’t working out. I gained weight, I’ll admit it. Actually, all of the weight I’d lost last year .

I am so so glad that the gyms are back open again. I honestly feel like the gyms are more sanitary than some stores. Getting back into the swing of things, relearning the muscles and regaining the strength I’d built up has been an interesting thing.

I was tracking every single thing I ate, every workout I did. The workout thing, I’m not too worried about tracking. It helps me track how much weight I can lift, how many reps I can do.

Tracking food? Drinks? Everything I was eating or drinking?? I starts to make you feel like if you go over how many calories you’re “supposed” to have, like you did something bad or like you failed. I like carbs, I admit that. I like soda - I don’t drink coffee so it’s the only caffeine I consume.

I’ve decided most recently to NOT track my food and drink intake. I know what I eat everyday, but seeing it makes me feel worse than I should. I’ll get to where I want to be. It takes time, and dedication, but I’m going to do it on my terms.
